Tim Lobb attended the event as guest of owner Mr Fikret Ozturk and made these observations:

-          The mens professional game is an exceptional level of golf with incredible distances being hit both off the tee and from the fairway.

-          The professional game is a well-considered and rehearsed game by incredibly trained athletes. Not many round bellies out there.

-          The facilities and logistical organisation required to host a first class golf tournament is quite exceptional. Our clients pulled of this element to the highest order and all the players and officials had a wonderful event in Turkey.

-          We should not concern ourselves with ‘protecting par’ and that birdies and eagles make for an exciting golf tournament.

-          The inclusion of the ‘villa’ tee on hole 16 created much media interest and is what golf needs to bring it more attention.

Congratulation to General Manager Hasan Ceylan and his team for the wonderful work as well as Gary Finnerty and the green keeping staff for the exceptional playing conditions throughout this week and always for the everyday golfer.

Miguel Vidaor (European Tour, Tournament Director for Turkish Airlines Open) said ‘The event was a sound success and Regnum Carya Golf & Spa Resort a fabulous venue. There aren’t many resorts in the world of this quality with a Championship course in great condition (all credit to Gary and his team) and 2 great hotels on site. The players thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the first class facilities on offer including the best players’ lounge I have ever seen. The hospitality, friendship and professionalism of all the staff at the Resort was amazing’.
