This week Tim Lobb of TPL visited our Dubai Golf City project in the UAE to inspect earthworks for the remaining 4 holes to be constructed. Remobilisation of the construction works had commenced a few weeks previous. With the strong elevation changes across the site and ‘core golf’ master planning philosophy we think that our course should offer a nice variety to the Dubai golfing scene.
Additionally what is remarkable is that the planted Paspalum platinum is still is wonderful condition despite low fertilisation and watering over the past few years. Maybe there is something to be said there. Below is a picture from behind the 6th green.
What is interesting is that while the project has been on hold for the last few years the natural landscape that has evolved onsite has given a perfect landscape palette to inspire towards. We will be enhancing this natural landscape that has appeared over the last few years by just adding more native grasses and a limited number of trees and shrubs…. NO PALMS…
Some more images of our natural golf course at Dubai Golf City. Really look forward to see golfers out there enjoying the course one day. It will be a par 70 around the 6000 yard mark. A fun course to play in a lovely setting with no championship tees or status.
More to come throughout the year.
